Brothers Oliver and Chris Wood -- the Wood Brothers -- grew up in Boulder, CO, and both left the area after graduating from high school, Oliver moving to Atlanta while Chris ended up in New York. Oliver, a guitarist, discovered he had a knack for writing songs and formed the blues-based King Johnson, which continues to do frequent gigs on the Southern circuit. Chris, a bassist, began playing jazz and rock in New York, eventually teaming up with John Medeski and Billy Martin to form the successful jazz-funk trio Medeski, Martin & Wood. Piers Faccini began his music career in London in the band 'Charley Marlowe', which he fronted alongside the poet Francesca Beard. In 2001, the band ended and Piers started solo work. He writes music for television - notably the BBC docudrama 'Killing Hitler' - as well as painting. His first solo album and EP 'Leave No Trace' came out in 2004. Dom La Nena is a Brazilian-born cellist, singer and songwriter. Her debut album, Ela, was released in January 2013 (USA and Canada). Dominique Pinto, known professionally as Dom La Nena, was born in 1989 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She began studying piano at the age of five, before shifting to the cello three years later.
