Wilco is a rock band which formed in 1994 in Chicago, Illinois, United States by the remaining members of alternative country group Uncle Tupelo following singer Jay Farrar's departure from that group. Wilco's lineup has changed frequently, with only singer Jeff Tweedy and bassist John Stirratt remaining from the original incarnation. Nick Lowe (born Nicholas Drain Lowe, 24 March 1949, Walton-on-Thames, England) is a well-respected British singer-songwriter, musician and producer. A pivotal figure in U.K. pub rock, punk rock, and new wave throughout the 1970s, Lowe was a key member of the bands such as Brinsley Schwarz and Rockpile (with Dave Edmunds). He is perhaps best known for his songs "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, And Understanding" and "Cruel to Be Kind", as well as his production work with Elvis Costello.
