Run the Jewels is an American hip-hop duo that consists of emcee/producer El-P and emcee Killer Mike. In 2012, El-P produced Killer Mike's critically acclaimed album R.A.P. Music. The following week, Killer Mike appeared on the track "Tougher Colder Killer", from El-P's album Cancer 4 Cure. BOOTS (born Jordy Asher) is a Soul and R&B producer, rapper, singer, songwriter, video director and multi-instrumentalist who first made forays into music as half of the musical duo Blonds, and into popular music as Beyoncé's producer. After trying out a string of lesser-known groups including Blonds, Young Circles, Blond Fuzz and Stonefox, he signed to JAY Z's label Roc Nation in June 2013 to eventually release his original solo music. His father was incarcerated, while his mom was focused on feeding her drug addiction - a combination that caused a boy to become a man quicker than most. Placed in a group home by child services at the age of 12, Fashawn found solace in music, and began writing rhymes to escape the less than desirable hand he had been dealt so early in life.
