MØ
From Copenhagen, Denmark
First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
Karen Marie Ørsted (born August 13 1988), better known by her stage name MØ, is a Danish singer-songwriter. Born in Odense, Denmark, MØ was just seven when the Spice Girls inspired her to make music. In her teenage years, she sang in the punk duo MOR and looked up to Kim Gordon as a "big hero and role model". Then in her early twenties, she "fell in love" with hip-hop. All of these influences led to her dreamy electro-pop vibe as MØ, which means "maiden" or "virgin" in Danish. Read more on Last.fm
Holychild
From Los Angeles, California
First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
holychild is a creative collaboration between Louie Diller and Liz Nistico. The two met at college in Washington, DC in 2010 and have been writing music ever since. What began as a school project for Diller in the fall of 2011, eventually evolved into holychild, and what it is today. The sound of holychild seeks to bridge the gap between Bjork and Katy Perry; experimental meets pop. Now based out of Los Angeles, holychild will be releasing one more song from their debut EP, Tribes, until it is released in full January 2013. Read more about HOLYCHILD on Last.fm.
