The Small Cities formed in 2007 in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. The band began as a three- piece (Leif, David, and Jimmy), but quickly saw the need to bring others into the fold. They released their self-titled EP in 2008, which cracked the CMJ top 200 and saw the band opening for the likes of The Besnard Lakes and Ladyhawk. The members of Beasthead have been playing music all over the Twin Cities area for almost ten years now. Coming from backgrounds in everything from blues to jazz fusion to funk rock to folk pop, they started working together about a year ago on bringing together all of their past musical experiences and current influences to create a sound that is as unique and diverse as the flourishing creative community found in Minneapolis.
