From last.fm:
Kid Dakota is, predictably, a band with roots in South Dakota. Darren Jackson, who migrated to Minneapolis (where he still resides) after college, built Kid Dakota's sound upon his mid-90's self-produced bedroom recordings. Eventually, he met drummer Christopher McGuire, and music began to flow. Kid Dakota's notoriety increased when the 5 song EP So Pretty caught the attention of Low's Alan Sparhawk. From last.fm:
International Karate are a mostly instrumental band from Melbourne, Australia. It’s 2006 and International Karate have completed their new album. More of What We’ve Heard Before Than We’ve Ever Heard Before is here, finally. After the somewhat lukewarm reception of their second album, 2004’s A Monster In Soul (we hope you’re refreshed by the honesty of this bio), they had a little bit of a rethink and have come up with a scorching new album.
