Sam Roberts Band has been around since 2000, when Sam Roberts began his solo career. Although the band has been together since then, it was not until the May 2011 release of Collider that Sam Roberts decided to add the moniker of "Sam Roberts Band" to the otherwise "solo" project. Sam Roberts mentions in interviews that it was always a "band" but that he wanted to add the words to give credit to his bandmates who have also worked hard in creating the success now known as the Sam Roberts Band. The Besnard Lakes are a band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, formed by the husband and wife team of Jace Lasek (Vocals/Guitar/Keyboards) and Olga Goreas (Vocals/Bass), and completed by Kevin Laing (Drums) and Richard White (Guitar). According to Songfacts, their name comes from Besnard Lake in North-Central Saskatchewan.
