The members of Beasthead have been playing music all over the Twin Cities area for almost ten years now. Coming from backgrounds in everything from blues to jazz fusion to funk rock to folk pop, they started working together about a year ago on bringing together all of their past musical experiences and current influences to create a sound that is as unique and diverse as the flourishing creative community found in Minneapolis. Ancient Mariner is the collective title of works of American instrumentalist Brian Beyke. Brian is an American instrumental (pseudo-ambient/pseudo-fingerstyle) solo guitarist, who began writing in Louisville, Kentucky in 2006. Brian relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2004 for college and while on summer break started writing his first electric, looping style songs he’s come to be known for. Brian quickly gained recognition for his live show where it was shown he could perform all the songs layered with multiple guitar and percussion tracks with out accompaniment.
