Hellbastard is a UK crust punk / Crossover band formed in 1985. While Amebix may have been the first to play crust punk music, Hellbastard was the first to coin the term "crust punk" based around the culture of squatting and the gritty subgenre of hardcore punk that reflected this lifestyle. Hellbastard was formed by The Apostles' guitarist Scruff. The first line-up included Scruff on guitars/vocals, Simo on bass and Phil on drums. No recordings were made. Read more on Last.fm

Formed in 2008, War//Plague is a Crust Punk/Metal band based in Minneapolis, MN comprised members from Provoked, Calloused, Pontius Pilate, and Path of Destruction among others. They recorded a 3 song demo in 2008 (at the House of Misery), that is currently available digitally from Moshpit Tragedy Records. Recently, Active Rebellion released 'Smolder' the band's debut 7". Profane Existence released a War//Plague/Police Bastard Split Lp on May 3rd, 2011 - both the 7" and the W//P side of the split were recorded with Amy at Core Source Productions.
