From last.fm:

Peter “Hooky” Hook (born February 13, 1956 in Salford, Greater Manchester, UK) was the bassist for the English post-punk band Joy Division (1977-1980), and New Order (1980-1993 & 1998-2007). Hook was a co-founder of Joy Division along with Bernard Sumner in 1976. Together, they recruited vocalist Ian Curtis and drummer Stephen Morris to complete the quartet. The band reformed as New Order following Curtis’ suicide in May 1980. Read more about Peter Hook and the Light on Last.fm.
