The Blind Shake are a detuned, garage-stomp, punk trio from Minneapolis, MN. Two brothers, Mike and Jim Blaha, front the band and play baritone and regular guitar respectively, while longtime chum Dave Roper plays drums. Known for ferocious live shows and collaborations with psychedelic noise legend Michael Yonkers, The Blind Shake have toured North American basements and bars for several years and have released six albums and a handful of singles. Members Christy Hunt (Von Bondies, Ouija Radio) Arzu Gokcen (Selby Tigers), Jacques Wait (Twilight Hours, Iguano, Magnatone), Charles Gehr (Seawhores, Marijuana Deathsquads, Ouija Radio, Jazz Man's Needle, Mid Carson July) formed in January 2010. With no products available to the public at the time, this band became a regional interest due to live performances and song writing alone. Their eponymous debut album was released July 5, 2011.
