Animal Collective is a musical group which formed in Baltimore, Maryland, United States in 1999. The band consists of Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Avey Tare (David Portner), Deakin (Josh Dibb) and Geologist (Brian Weitz). Records released under the name Animal Collective may include contributions from any or all of these members; the lineup is not uniform. A member of Black Dice and Terrestrial Tones. His solo debut album "Hermaphrodite" was released in mid-August, 2007 on Paw Tracks. He has since released two other LPs (Alien in a Garbage Dump in 2009, and most recently Waco Taco Combo) along with a slew of EPs, 7" vinyls, and self-released material, all of which have had limited printings.
