The current band members are Patrick Costello on bass guitar and vocals, Erik Funk and Bill Morrisette on guitars and vocals, and Lane Pederson on drums. Los Angeles-based quartet the Vacation pour their blood, sweat, and beer into their rock n' roll, "glue together Detroit scuzz, hook-y retro punk à la the Damned and shout-along glam choruses" (Rolling Stone). Identical twins Ben and Steve Tegel (vocals and guitar, respectively), Eric "Dutch" Suoninen (bass), and Denny Weston, Jr. (drums) first got noticed playing at local dive bar the Kibitz Room, formerly ground zero for fellow L.A. bands Guns 'n Roses and the Wallflowers. The first album of Color TV (self-titled) mixing layers of ambient music with downtempo and IDM, Detroit techno, dub, electro and oldschool rap / dubstep - a band featuring the British grime artist Infects - while maintaining the set through glitches, samples and AM radio static. The album is a semi-homemade recording of André ZP, toying with electronic music since 2000. At the time, he mixed musical fragments with distorted samples and guitar feedback into a Pentium I.
