The Belfast Cowboys are a nine-piece band from Minneapolis, Minnesota that specializes in playing the music of Van Morrison. It is also the papa group to St Dominic’s Trio, an original music project. Both groups are led by singer-songwriter Terry Walsh. The Belfast Cowboys played their first show on St Patrick’s Day, 2002, then after over six years of gigging in the bars of Minnesota, put out a self-titled debut of Van Morrison songs. In 1981 Rich Mattson wrote his first song. It was such a great time that he still does it today. In 2000 he started Ol' Yeller after dismantling the Glenrustles (Minneapolis, 1988-1999). Ol' Yeller plays pretty much anywhere. They record and release their own albums. Their recordings are lush and pretty and soaking with buttery guitars. Live, they rock like there is no tomorrow.
